Chosen Paths by Krad-Eelav Chosen Paths by Krad-Eelav
Part of the 'let's draw underloved FE characters' spree, not to mention my gallery was getting clogged up with Uprising. xD

Always have loved Nasir. One of the first FE characters that I drew and uploaded here, if you can believe it. Can't believe how rare he is to be fanarted, considering his role in PoR. o.O

Kinda found it unusual he sided against Ena and Kurth in RD, though? I understand dragons are stubborn beasts, but he's siding against his granddaughter and his next king, for goodness sake. Not to mention the possible influence Ike had on him. I know that's only three years worth, compared with the gazilion's he's lived, but still. -_-.

So, yeah, slight style tricks lifted from ~fayrenpickpocket Oh her colors.

Enjoy~

Ooh, very nice! Each dragon, resolute in their own path... I love the coloring, and Nasir's hair in particular looks very well-textured.

I didn't get to use Nasir in my first PoR playthrough; Ike was too weak, and he died. That's one thing, though, that I love about the fight with the Black Knight - it's actually a challenge whether or not you'll be able to beat him. With Ashnard, you have all the turns in the world on your side, plus the Laguz Royal to help you out... not so with BK!

Enough about that, more about Nasir... having played PoR, it is disappointing that Nasir's role in RD is so small. Oh, and Nasir siding with the king is complete bullshit. In PoR, his bond of duty to Ena is greater than that to his own king, so why would that reverse in the sequel? He risked his life just to help Ena, and now he's fighting her? I'm calling shenanigans. As much as I enjoy RD, it really did mistreat many of its returning characters.

I love the battle with the BK for the same reason (and actually, the fight with Naesala, if you so choose.) Instead of handing everything to the player like candy, it made you work at the good stats to hammer them. xD;

I've heard some interesting opinions as to why he'd side with the king in the comments, but ultimately I'd have to agree with you. He switched sides a ton in PoR, but it was always for Ena's sake. And yes, that it did. Still a great game, though!

Ah... Nasir... You know, he's fairly useless in RD. When you DO get him, it's the last battle, and well... Ashera can turn both him and Garenth into paste. So, while saving them is all well and good, I usually use them for free experience, leaving them with approximately 10 HP each, and then I destroy Dheginsea.

Also, Fun Fact. Using Kurthnaga and Ena in that battle, only to defeat every dragon is fun. They don't attack back, and get a whole lotta free experience...

Sticking Imbue on Nasir fixes most of his deficiencies in the last two levels. :> Gareth's going to get turned into paste no matter what, but at least Nasir's a decent magitank.

True... But, generally, I just stick to Kurth and Ena at the final bit. Mainly because, at that point, I've maxed them out in lvls. And Kurth has more than enough defense and hp to tank. Of course, in all reality... I just have EVERYONE except Ike, Micaiah, Mist, and a few others stay back. ESPECIALLY the heron I take with me. They can take the magic Judge attack that comes from Ashera, but NEVER the physical. Oh, and Lehran/Sephiran/Sephiroth-wanna-be tends to be useful.

Yeah, abusing the fact that the other dragons won't attack Ena and Kurthnaga is basically the only way to train them. Kurthnaga can actually turn out pretty good, with his massive strength growth and acquired formshift ability. Ena... Ena's useful for Red Tide, and that's about it.

And I never thought of whittling down Nasir and Gareth for experience while keeping them alive... seems like a sound tactic. And they aren't that useful for the two parts of one chapter that you get them, but at least their dragon skills are helpful.

Exactly. And what with what Krad said, putting Imbue on Nasir tends to be a good idea if you want him to Magitank.

Huh. I never knew Nasir could use Imbue, but it's corroborated by the FE wiki. That would be a good tactic.

Yeha. He tends to be the better choice out of the two recruitable dragons in the point of the game. Gareth is... Kinda useless. He can't take a hit from Ashera's magical Judge. Trust me, I tried to use him. He was killed in one hit...

I think his siding with Dheginsea was more because he knew that if he DID go against him, and they DID somehow survive, he'd never be allowed back in Goldoa, ever... He also probably knew that Ike would win.
